Our Tea Bags
The good news for ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi tea drinkers is that our tea bags are made from unbleached filter paper, which comes from the cellulose fibre of the Abaca Plant. They’re unbleached, chemical-free & biodegradable, therefore completely safe to compost.
Additionally, the tags on the tea bag use soy-based ink. We’ve also invested in new machinery to enable our bags to become staple-free, instead, they are being tied with a cotton thread.
I bought four different teas from “Organic India” and I am loving them. As for Tulsi cleanse I supposed I was not ready for bitter taste, but it is medicinal tea, so I just had to read the information leaflet more carefully.
I love the tulsi teas but the cleanse is so bitter it's hard to drink..... sorry but don't love this tea.
Hi Dayna, Thank you for the review. Yes this tea can be bitter. Tulsi CLEANSE Tea is extremely beneficial and worth the bitterness due to the vital role it plays in supporting healthy liver and kidney detoxification processes.
If you find the bitterness intense, try these simple hacks found in this video; https://www.instagram.com/p/CEsyHhmpCEN/
Always my go to for a spring clean
It is my daily go to tea. It does have a flavour you need to get use to, but it makes me feel so good.
Addtional Information
What Is Tulsi
Tulsi, also called Holy Basil, is one of the most sacred plants in India and is considered “The Queen of the Herbs” for its restorative and spiritual properties. Also spelt Tulasi or Thulasi, it has been used for thousands of years to support a healthy response to stress, natural detoxification, and restore balance and harmony. Our infusions are not only delicious and organic, they are nature’s perfect rejuvenative.
Combining Tulsi with green tea deeply enhances each other’s remarkable health benefits including an abundance of potent phytonutrients and antioxidants, which protect the body from damaging free radicals. These compounds naturally supports the immune & cardiovascular systems and promote detoxification.
Tulsi (Holy Basil): Benefits to Body & Mind
Modern research has classified Tulsi as an adaptogenic herb. Adaptogens have been shown to support the body’s healthy reactions to stress. Adaptogenic herbs have been used in the Ayurvedic tradition for thousands of years to promote and maintain wellness. Many adaptogenic herbs have been referred to by herbalists as rejuvenative herbs, qi tonic herbs, rasayanas or restorative herbs. They help the body adapt to environmental, physical and emotional stressors, support normal functions and restore balance.
How to Brew your Tulsi
Pour freshly boiled water over an infusion bag in a cup. Cover your mug with a lid (or a small plate) and let the infusion bag steep for 10 minutes (or longer).
To double the strength add 2 bags, it is best doubled when serving iced.
Please remember that Ayurveda recommends consuming hot or warm drinks for optimal digestion. To continue your daily wellness practice over Summer you can consume Tulsi at room temperature by leaving your tea to cool. If adding ice to cool your drink, ensure it is melted before consuming.
Precautions
Do not use if pregnant or nursing without consulting a physician.
